2nd Shift Roll Thread Operator
JOB SUMMARY
As a Roll Thread Operator you will be responsible for maintaining a safe work environment, performing preventative maintenance, conducting quality checks, completing support tasks, and actively monitoring work quality for continuous improvement.
REPORTING TO
Production Manager
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Set up and operator roll threading machines to efficiently thread fasteners for regular, new, special, and experimental jobs, ensuring adherence to production schedules and quality standards.
- Make minor repairs such as replacing studs, set screws and/or plate springs; reports any other maintenance needs to maintenance dept.
- Maintain a safe work environment by following all safety procedures and regulations, practicing safe work habits, and identifying and reporting potential hazards.
- Upkeep equipment and workspace by performing preventative maintenance tasks like lubrication, keeping machine clean and organized, and making minor repairs where necessary.
- Contribute to process optimization by completing First Piece Inspections and ongoing quality checks using established gauges and procedures.
- Perform various support tasks including counting, cleaning, returning gauges and fixtures, transferring parts, and assembling tooling for upcoming jobs.
- Take ownership of work quality by actively monitoring output, identifying and promptly addressing any inconsistencies, and continuously seeking improvement opportunities.
SKILLS and ABILITIES
- Capable of using measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, height gauges, etc.
- Ability to read and write, perform basic arithmetic, and follow verbal and written instructions
EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE
- High School Diploma/GED or equivalent.
- Experience with Waterbury brand incline rollers.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Work involves frequent lifting of materials and product up to 30 pounds and seldom lifting to 50lbs. Frequent use of hands and fingers to handle and/or adjust equipment. Moderate reaching, pushing, pulling, gripping and grasping. Machinery operation requires the use of safety equipment to include but not limited to safety glasses, hearing protection, and steel toed work boots or shoes.
